The Aggression Underway

The presence of US warships in the Caribbean Sea, near the Venezuelan coast, along with the statements from high-ranking Washington officials in recent weeks—particularly the Secretary of State and the Attorney General—constitute the spearhead of a campaign of psychological and media aggression orchestrated by the United States government. Its objective is clear: to fabricate a pretext to justify a military intervention against a sovereign nation.

A Familiar Manual of Lies

Washington is attempting to impose the fallacious narrative that drug cartels operate in Venezuela under state protection. This script is a carbon copy of the lies used, for example, to invade Iraq with the tale of "weapons of mass destruction." It is a desperate ploy, also used during Trump's first administration, which resurfaces after the resounding failure of all its attempts to impose a "regime change," including the fiasco of the puppet pseudo-president Juan Guaidó, now a fugitive and millionaire in Miami.

Using media outlets and social networks at its service, the empire seeks to demonize Venezuela and poison world public opinion to prepare the ground for aggression.

Looting as State Policy

Behind the smokescreen of accusations against President Nicolás Maduro Moros, hides the greatest robbery of the century: the systematic plundering of the Venezuelan people's resources. The kidnapping of the CITGO oil company in the US, the theft of our gold reserves in the Bank of England, the freezing of accounts, and the hijacking of state aircraft, which total more than $40 billion stolen. The false "seizures" are merely a facade to legalize this large-scale larceny.

Irrefutable Truths: Venezuela, a Drug-Free Territory

Reality, backed by facts and international organizations, dismantles Washington's propaganda point by point:

- The UN's 2025 World Drug Report certifies Venezuela as a "territory free of illicit crops."

- Only 5% of international drug trafficking attempts to use Venezuelan routes; 8% of Colombia's drugs are trafficked through its coast to the Caribbean and through the Colombian Guajira, while the vast majority (87%) leaves via the Pacific, not its border with Venezuela.

- The 2025 "Relámpago del Catatumbo" Operation, carried out by our security forces, has been resounding: 52 tons of drugs seized, over 400 illegal aircraft neutralized, and money laundering networks dismantled.

- Venezuela's fight against drugs was strengthened by breaking with the DEA, an agency that now operates as the world's largest drug cartel.

A Sovereign People that Resists and Advances

Despite more than a thousand unilateral coercive measures imposed by Washington and its lackey governments, Venezuela is advancing. With 17 consecutive quarters of economic growth, political stability, and a robust national dialogue, the Venezuelan people have demonstrated their strength under the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro.

The solidity of our participatory democracy is unquestionable. In strict constitutional compliance, in the last year we have held with total transparency and normality the Presidential Elections (July 28, 2024), the National Assembly and Governors' Elections (May 25, 2025), and the Mayors and Municipal Councils' Elections (July 27, 2025), along with 7 popular consultations, consolidating Venezuelan participatory democracy and the people as the true protagonists of their destiny.

A Call to Decisive Action

We urge the peoples and governments of the world not to be silent accomplices to another war based on lies. We cannot allow the United States to violate with impunity the CELAC Proclamation that declares Latin America and the Caribbean a Zone of Peace. The time for passive vigilance is over.

The international community must rise up firmly to prevent interventionism, plunder, and the flagrant violation of International Law and the UN Charter from materializing once again. Let the tragedy of Iraq not be repeated. Let the world not keep another complicit silence in the face of the aggressions of a declining empire.

In unity with the sovereign and independent peoples and governments of the world, we will make true—once again—the affirmation of the Liberator Simón Bolívar in a letter he sent to the disrespectful agent of the United States of North America, John Irvine, on October 12, 1818:

“Fortunately, it has often been seen that a handful of free men can defeat powerful empires”
